Overview
This guide will walk you through the essential steps to start tracking time with SimplyManage. By the end, you'll know how to:
- Start and stop the timer
- Add manual time entries
- View your time on the calendar
- Submit your timesheet
Step 1: Start the Timer
The easiest way to track time is using the built-in timer. Here's how:
- Click the play button in the header navigation bar
- Select a project from the dropdown
- Optionally add a description of what you're working on
- If you're working on a specific ticket, enter the ticket ID
- Click Start Timer

You can also start the timer quickly by clicking directly on the timer icon in the header - it will expand to show the start form.
Step 2: Stop the Timer
When you're done working:
- Click the stop button next to the running timer
- Review the time entry details in the confirmation dialog
- Make any adjustments if needed
- Click Save to record your time
Your time entry is now saved and will appear in your timesheet and calendar view.
Step 3: View Your Calendar
To see all your time entries visually:
- Navigate to Calendar in the sidebar
- Browse through days, weeks, or months
- Click on any entry to view details or make edits
Step 4: Add Manual Time Entry
Sometimes you need to add time for work done in the past. To add a manual entry:
- Navigate to Timer in the sidebar
- Click Add Manual Entry
- Select the date and enter the duration
- Choose a project and add a description
- Click Save Entry

Manual entries are useful for tracking meetings, calls, or any work where you forgot to start the timer.
Step 5: Submit Your Timesheet
At the end of each week, submit your timesheet for approval:
- Navigate to Timer and select the Timesheets tab
- Review your entries for the current week
- Make sure all entries are accurate
- Click Submit for Approval
Your manager will receive a notification and can approve or request changes to your timesheet.
