General Questions
What is SimplyManage?
SimplyManage is a modern time-tracking platform designed for teams. It helps you track time, manage projects, monitor team utilization, and integrates with tools like Jira and GitLab.
Who is SimplyManage for?
SimplyManage is built for:

What platforms does SimplyManage support?
SimplyManage is a web application that works in any modern browser. We also offer a Chrome browser extension for tracking time from anywhere.
Time Tracking
I forgot to start the timer. What do I do?
No problem! You can add a manual time entry for any past date. Navigate to Timer, click "Add Manual Entry", and fill in the details.
Can I edit a time entry after saving it?
Yes, you can edit time entries as long as they're not part of an approved timesheet. Click on any entry in the Timer page or Calendar to edit it.
My timer has been running for 24+ hours. Is that a problem?
Long-running timers may indicate you forgot to stop it. You can still stop it and adjust the duration when saving. Consider enabling timer reminders in Settings to get notified about long-running timers.
Can I track time without a project?
By default, all time entries require a project. This ensures accurate reporting and billing. Ask your admin if you need an internal/general project for miscellaneous work.
Timesheets
When should I submit my timesheet?
Timesheets are typically due at the end of each week. Check with your manager for your organization's specific deadline. You'll receive reminder notifications if enabled.
Can I edit entries after submitting my timesheet?
Once submitted, you cannot edit entries until your timesheet is either approved or rejected. If you need changes, ask your manager to reject the timesheet so you can make corrections.
My timesheet was rejected. What now?
When rejected, your timesheet returns to draft status. Review your manager's feedback, make the necessary changes, and resubmit.
Projects
Why can't I see all projects?
You can only see projects you're assigned to. If you need access to a project, ask the project manager or an admin to add you.
How do I create a project?
Project creation requires Manager or Admin role. Navigate to Projects and click "Create Project". See our Creating Projects guide for details.
Integrations
My Jira time isn't syncing. What's wrong?
Check that:
- Your Jira connection is active (Settings → Integrations)
- You have "Log Work" permission in Jira
- The Jira issue key is correct (PROJECT-123)
- Auto-sync is enabled in your settings

Where can I get the browser extension?
Navigate to Extension in the SimplyManage sidebar to find installation links. Currently available for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.
Account & Access
How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email. You'll receive a link to reset your password.
How do I change my role?
Only Admins can change user roles. Contact your organization's administrator to request a role change.
How do I leave an organization?
Contact your organization's administrator to have your account deactivated. You cannot remove yourself from an organization.
Billing & Reports
Can I export my time data?
Yes! Generate a report in the Reports section and export as PDF or CSV. You can filter by date range, project, team member, and more.
How do billing rates work?
Billing rates can be set at multiple levels: organization, client, project, and team member. The most specific rate is used. See our Billing Rates guide for details.
Troubleshooting
Pages aren't loading properly
- Try refreshing the page (Ctrl/Cmd + R)
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser
- Check your internet connection
Timer not syncing across devices
The timer syncs via WebSocket connection. If you see stale data:
- Refresh the page
- Check that you're logged in with the same account
- Wait a few seconds for sync to complete
